When planning to buy WP themes, there are a lot of factors that you need to keep in mind. Your brand website is your online identity. Your website must be fast, responsive and at the same time attractive.
Free or Paid themes?
Some people find it an added expense to buy a new theme whereas for some, it is an investment. You need to understand that always free themes have certain limitations. For example, some free themes will not support demo import, putting you in a tough spot when replicating the theme design. Though some free themes support demo import, it may limit the layout options, header styling options, colour options and certain advanced features that will only be available in the Pro version of the theme.
Factors to consider when you Buy WP themes
There are a lot of websites from where you can buy WP themes.
Here are some of the key factors to consider when purchasing a WordPress theme.
Before you decide on a theme, make a note of all the features and functionalities you want in your website and opt for a theme that incorporates the majority of the desired features. Also, look for the additional plugins you want to integrate into the site to have all the features you need.
- The first and foremost thing to look for (according to me) is the theme publish date and the last update date of the theme. This will tell you when the theme was updated last and if it has been updated after the major WP updates. If the theme you want to purchase has not been updated for a long time or even after major WP releases, try looking for an updated theme. Make sure you check all the theme features.
- Make sure that the theme is responsive. It should run smoothly on all devices. It should be mobile friendly as most people use mobile devices to surf the net and all related purposes.
- Check for the compatibility of the theme with the page builders. The most popular page builder tool is Elementor. Do check if the theme is compatible with Elementor and Elementor Pro. Also check out the other popular page builders like WPBakery Builder, Visual Composer etc.
- Check for the customization features of the theme. Make sure that the theme permits extensive customizations so that you can include all required features.
- The theme has to be SEO-friendly and should have a proper HTML structure. Ensure that it has optimized meta tags and also provides support for schema markup. A poorly optimized theme can affect your search engine rankings. Hence be extra careful when you select a theme.
- Suppose you opt for a theme that has not been updated recently, then, there are possibilities that the theme may show some major compatibility issues with the latest version of WordPress or other plugins resulting in a critical error on the website.
